Try something Sweet at Eddie's

Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills is home to one of the most nostalgic ice cream parlors in Queens. Eddie's Sweet Shop was first opened in 1909. Nothing beats the taste of homemade ice cream, whipped cream and hot fudge to top it off. This is a great place to meet up with a group of friends to chat and have some desert.

This is the type of ice cream parlor that gives you that old school feel. This ice cream parlor takes you back to your childhood and the feeling of getting a big cup of home made ice cream at the end of the day.

The ice cream shop scene in the 2010 movie "Remember Me" starring Robert Pattinson was recently filmed here last year.

Can you conquer the Famous Pounder?

Forest Hills is famous for their boutique shops and interesting eateries. Cheeburger Cheeburger is the place to go when you want to feel like your in an all-American restaurant from in the 1950's. The bright pink and teal colors on the interior and the doo-wop music gives you that retro feel. The atmosphere is fun and inviting and a great place for the whole family.

They are most famous for their hamburgers categorized by size: The Classic, The Semi-Serious, The Serious, The Delirious and the Famous Pounder. Successfully eating the Famous Pounder by yourself gets you an announcement by the waiters and your picture up on the wall with a giant stuffed hamburger. For vegetarians they offer the veggie burger and the Portobello Mushroom sandwich and wraps. The best part about Cheeburger Cheeburger is that customers are able to build their own meals by choosing toppings and sauces on their "Cheeburger", Chicken sandwich and Grilled Cheese.

All drinks are served in mason jars to give you that nostalgic feel. Their wide variety of milkshakes make a perfect desert. My personal favorite is the Cotton Candy milkshake. If you order their fresh cut french fries, then shaking some of the Cheeburger Cheeburger topping that they have on the table is a must. You can also buy Cheeburger memorabilia including t-shirts, mason jars and their spicy topping.

The question is, can you conquer the famous pounder?

Located on Queens Blvd right up the block from Austin Street.

Feeling Spicy?

Looking for a place to eat in Forest Hills that's fun and has some delicious spicy food? Try Cabana Nuevo Latino restaurant where it's always a fiesta! Cabana was Zagat rated in 2005 and 2008. They offer a wide range of Latin and Caribbean food that is guaranteed to leave your taste buds tingling at a reasonable price.

"It's Fiesta Time at this "Frenetic" Nuevo-Latino mini-chain where the hearty, tasty grub and HOT, HOT, HOT scene are just the thing "when you are feeling spicy" (yet the prices won't burn a hole in your pocketbook)".

-Zagat 2005 Rating

They serve up lunch specials as well as dinner.
Cabana offers a "fresh catch of the day" fish which is specially selected from local fish markets. If you don't feel like dining and just want to grab a drink with a friend there's a bar located inside with some interesting drinks at a reasonable price.
